Who can benefit from Alexander Technique?

Alexander Technique is for

  • you with or without significant problems in the moving body
  • children from 5-6 years, teenagers and adults
  • you, who wish to be more efficient in daily life. That is to get better results quicker and with less effort

  • you, who wish to use mindfulness in action
  • you, who wish to age with grace

Alexander Technique is for you with physical, chronical or recurrent muscolo-sceletal problems.

  • Stress, head ache, repetetive strain injury, tension- or stress-related tinnitus, fatigue, chronical tensions, joint problems, slipped disks, Parkinson´s Disease are only examples of impeding conditions or diagnoses, the technique can relieve
  • If you have had an injury, you might have compensated in other parts of the body to protect the injured part. Thus you might have got a new problem, as you have picked up an unbalanced movementpattern
  • If you stutter, who could take lessons
  • Even your mood, Alexander Technique can make you change to the better, as you also get a good coping strategy

In Alexander Technique we focus on the proces. This approach may be the reason, why highly specialized and skilled people such as performers, sportsmen,, surgeons or pilots can improve their efficiency (be more precise, or more expressive with less effort and in shorter time), in some cases after just a few lessons.

A research study from 2012 published at Foment del Treball Nacional de Catalunya, Barcelona “Alexander Technique: Training for the self-management of workers to prevent musculoskeletal disorders” concludes, that lessons in Alexander Technique provided for employees at any kind of company or organisation give positive results. This counts for

  • those who sit in front of a schreen all day long (officeworkers, it-specialists, you name it)
  • those who make repetetive movements, (i.e. line work or musicians)
  • those who have hard physical work (i.e. gardeners, cleaning people)
  • those who are highly specialized (i.e. musicians, surgeons)
